Tattoo Removal Surgery

One of the most evasive options to remove a tattoo is to have it surgically removed or covered. This involves a medical professional removing the area of the skin that is tattooed and either sewing the skin back together or simply grafting a non-tattooed piece of skin over the tattoo.

Of course, these two surgical options present a variety of risks. For example, the trauma to the skin following tattoo removal surgery is often greater than the initial trauma following the application of the tattoo. This is why surgery is generally reserved as a last case scenario.

The less evasive of these two methods involves a skin graft in which new skin is placed/grafted to the tattoo. However, this method is extremely expensive and is typically reserved for celebrities and the wealthy.

This is not to say that the traditional method of surgically cutting out the tattoo is inexpensive.

Additionally, anytime you undergo surgery that uses an anisthetic, you are opening yourself up to a variety of medical risks.

If you want to remove a tattoo, undergoing surgery should be a last resort. Instead, you should first try to treat the tattoo using a topical treatment. This method is not only safe and effective, but is also much less expensive.
